The perception and need

Yuppie.

That is what I believe to be. Young, Upcoming Person. If you are reading this blog, or any of the Lifestyles of the Rich -series blogs, you must be one too. Gadgets has always been the one thing that yuppies used to advertise their social status. "Look, I've got disposable income" is what we are selling. And why wouldn't we? It shows we have the ability to earn and that chances are good that we are available. No large morgage on a family home, station wagon or kids school fees.

New technologies are produced on the mandate to ease our inconvenienced lives. Smarter, smaller, faster, lighter, more advanced, more customizable options, compatibility, ease-of-use and/or increased performance output are all weighed against cost. Or so we think: We do not think of only the Dollar/cent value, but what "other" value it is going to add to my life. Whether that value is a true reflection of an earnest need (buy cell phone to use in case of emergencies) or a peception of a need (If you own an Ipod, you HAVE to have a Docking station for the product). Rational or irrational, our persuit for new technology shall never seize. As more economies rise and the global market place mature, we will see the rise of technology-producers.

Leonardo da Vinci saw the beauty in form and function. Blessed with the ability to conceive ideas whay ahead of his time, made him the father of all inventions. We should thank him for inspiring so many great inventors/ engineers whom have revisited once considered "impossible" ideas and gave us genius new products!
